Barbara Lee Turrill and Morgen Spiess

Rainspout likes to feature some local musicians each year. This year we are happy  to present:

Barbara Lee Turrill  on vocals, guitar and Morgen Spiess  on clarinet, and saxophone. They  perform original, traditional and new folk.  They are the happiest in small clubs, house concerts, and other groovy venues, where the audience members are 4 feet away.  The songs are filled with an Appalachian Scots-Irish soul or a  New England 1960s small town blend with Urban Americana notes, combined with 21st century laid back folk-swing tunes.   Barbara’s musical background includes playing at the infamous Cornelia St. Songwriters Cafe in NYC in the 70s, at folk festivals and clubs up and down the West Coast  and in New England.  She has won the New Songwriters contest at the Willamette Valley Folk Festival in Eugene.

Morgen Spiess  plays clarinet and saxophone. Morgen has been entertaining up and down the west coast for decades. A famed busker at Seahawks, Blazers, Beaver,  Ducks,  and  formerly Seattle Sonics games,  Spiess  played in  his share of Lincoln County bands throughout the years.  Among them  New Clear Lights, and Anything Goes.
